ASIA NATIONS DIVISION 3, EAST Finals Day

31.05.2014
Guam v China in Vientiane (Asia Nations Div.3, East; Final)
Laos v Indonesia in Vientiane (Asia Nations Div.3, East; Playoff 3rd-4th)

Preview
China caused a minor upset by defeating Indonesia in the first semi-final held Thursday. For the last few seasons China appears to have concentrated on the Sevens rugby allowing their 15’s game to slip dramatically. Thursday’s game is an indication that that could change.

China’s clash with Guam will see Asia’s most populated nation take on one of its least. Guam showed just how strong they are with a convincing 48-0 win over hosts Laos. I’d expect Guam to be too strong for the Chinese side.

The last time Guam and China met was in 2011 with China winning 28-18 on the day. Last year Guam defeated Indonesia by over 50 points. Indonesia lost by 4 points to China Thursday.

This year Laos has had to step up in the standard of competition from other years and may well find Indonesia too strong.

Predictions
Guam by 24 v China
Indonesia by 12 points
