GEORGIA v ARGENTINA

22.06.2013

Venue: Del Bicentenario, San Juan

Referee: George Clancy (Ireland)

Preview
I’ve singled this rugby test match as the third most important rugby class this weekend. This is a Tier 2 nation clashing with a Tier 1 nation. It is also significant as a test of just where these nations stand in relation to each other. There was a time when a clash between these two would be a clash of emerging rugby nations. No longer so. Argentina joined the Rugby Championship (other teams-New Zealand, South Africa and Australia) whilst Georgia is the top European outside the 6 Nations Championship.

Georgia visits Argentina on the back of the Tbilisi Cup matches where they were less than convincing. Missing a player like Gorgodze (rested) will make a big difference.

Argentina has not picked their strongest team chosing to rest their top players ahead of the Rugby Championship.

What the Punters Think
’Considering injuries to the Georgian squad, a fairly strong squad. If the test v England are to go by, Georgia's scrum will demolish the Pumas.’
Rugby.Change

‘All things considered very strong [Georgian] squad.’ Lelopride
