TEST RUGBY RESULTS: Saturday 6 August

06.08.2011
New Zealand 30, Australia 15 in Auckland (Bledisloe Cup; Tri Nations)
England 23, Wales 19 at Twickenham (World Cup Warm up)
Scotland 10, Ireland 6 at Murrayfield (World Cup Warm Up)
Canada 28, United States 23 in Toronto (World Cup Warm Up)
Argentina 78, South America XV 15 in San Juan (Non-test)

Briefly
New Zealand placed itself in a good position to take the 2011 Tri Nations Trophy with a emphatic win over Australia. A first half blitz saw them to a 17-0 lead at half time. Australia came back in the second half but the Kiwis never looked like losing.

England defeated Wales and Scotland just pipped Ireland in two Northern Hemisphere World Cup Warm up games. None of the teams look like world beaters but then they didn’t field their strongest sides.

Canada defeated the USA at home in a predictable win. The Canuks didn’t have the game all their way. The return game in Glendale next weekend will be interesting.

Argentina ended their home preparations for the 2011 Rugby World cup with an easy win over a South American XV

Next Weekend
13.06.2011
Australia v South Africa in Durban (Tri Nations; Mandela Trophy)
Ireland v France in Bordeaux (World Cup Warm-up)
Wales v England at Cardiff (World Cup Warm-up)
Japan v Italy in Trieste (World Cup Warm-up)
United States v Canada in Glendale (World Cup Warm-up)
